It is far more important to be well placed in the alphabet.Jonathan Bakerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10851181681609124691noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2115390382388514565.post-86739392725434625592012-07-05T13:36:21.674-07:002012-07-05T13:36:21.674-07:00Excellent Jonathan. You have done a great service by wrapping words around ideas many are trying to express during these current struggles with City Hall.Annnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2115390382388514565.post-74158996312920101522012-07-05T07:05:38.104-07:002012-07-05T07:05:38.104-07:00Michael,

The best minds in the country said that the real problem today would be *** (drum roll) LEISURE. We would have such reduced hours of work that we would have nothing to do.Jonathan Bakerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10851181681609124691noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2115390382388514565.post-63440398684295070152012-07-05T00:31:38.077-07:002012-07-05T00:31:38.077-07:00Best post of the week. Perhaps someone will reprint and sell the report. It might be a best-seller.

On a similar vein, I have been researching the origins of South Shore False Creek. While today it is acclaimed as a great success and led to other waterfront redevelopments around North America, in early 70's many opposed to any housing in this area.

Board of Trade was opposed, George Puill was opposed...indeed, a senior Vancouver City Planner resigned since he considered it so unsuitable for housing, especially for families with children!

One day, I want to write a book called PREDICTIONS! in which I review many such reports and compare them with what really happened.

I might start with some of my rezonings such as Oak Gardens at 42&Oak and 41&Balaclava where neighbours feared the neighbourhoods might be destroyed... :-)

Michael GellerMichael Gellerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18314216534720079965noreply@blogger.com
